Yeah. I did a pure Wine + Steam + Proton-GE installation, and none of these ever drew any of those Mesa packages as dependencies. Which is weird, considering they’re such essential packages to the point both Mint and Fedora either pre-packaged those Mesa/Vulkan drivers out of the box, or had apt/dnf pull these as dependencies when installing Steam or Wine/Lutris. (It’s likely the former, as on my Mint install I previously used an Nvidia GPU and my newer AMD one just worked OOTB without having to install any Mesa drivers.)
I’m curious, could it be worthwhile for the Endeavour devs to add something on the Welcome app that could point new users on AMD or Intel GPUs to install all the necessary Mesa drivers? I understand that Endeavour should be a minimalist distro and do not wish to suggest for needless bloat, but those Mesa packages are pretty important and it’s apparently entirely possible to install a full gaming setup on Endeavour/Arch yet not get any of them pulled as dependencies.
