Following advice from Boots straight to Windows Automatic Repair, and then the Windows recovery screen - #7 by joekamprad, I started over by copying the “Shared” partition to a FAT32 microSD card within the Live ISO running under Ventoy and erasing my disk. However, stupidly enough, I did not use any verify options nor try and open anything. Now, even though the filenames, directory structure, and file sizes are all correct, and the files previously stored on the microSD card were completely fine, the files themselves are all nonsense.
Two of them are at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xwKCPxdcUmNPAi8_hpQdR-JJe1GyGqZH/view and https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K9DEejEZ_ljltabJlEUtC1eG0ZcmWdCm/view. Is there anything I can do to make the files on the microSD card readable (Due to the repetition in the first file, I would suspect not.)
Secondly, is there a way I could restore the data from my disk? “No” is a valid answer to these questions.
you say you removed the source already without validating the files you backed up?
Not much you can do on your own. May a recovery professional could do.
