Uninstall Cronie

Without discussing the reasonableness: I would like to remove cronie cleanly. I have disabled it first:

systemctl disable --now cronie.service

   systemctl mask cronie.service

then tried to uninstall with sudo pacman -Rns cronie but got the following error message:

Prüfe Abhängigkeiten...
Fehler: Konnte den Vorgang nicht vorbereiten (Kann Abhängigkeiten nicht erfüllen)
:: Entfernen von cronie verletzt Abhängigkeit 'cron', benötigt von kcron

What do I do with kcron?

Edit: The computer in question is EnOS with Plasma, where cronie is already installed.

You can remove kcron. It is gui management for cron which you shouldn’t need if you are removing cron support.

hmpf: Entfernen von kcron verletzt Abhängigkeit 'kcron', benötigt von kde-system-meta

Is there a way out of this?

Edit: It looks like kcron is inseparable from KDE, so let’s keep it that way. Disabling cronie will have to do then

You can remove kde-system-meta unless you prefer to have the meta package around.

OK, I think all this stuff won’t be necessary. I’ll uninstall it and see what’s left after that.

Uninstall with -R or right away with -Rns?

You can remove it with -R.

thanx a lot
