Unable to set display configuration

Hi all,

For some reason, I am unable to set my monitor’s refresh rate or enable HDR. I have a Gigabyte M27Q, and when I set the refresh rate above 60hz or enable HDR and save, it’ll go through the save process, but when I close and re-open the display configuration, everything is set back to 60hz and HDR is not enabled. I’ve tried disconnecting my second monitor, but that didn’t make any difference. Screenshots below to show current settings.

Welcome @NateTheAnCap! :sunglasses: :enos_flag:

I advise against enabling HDR with an Nvidia GPU. That has been a source of show stopping Wayland issues.

As for refresh rate, you might confirm your lead meets the standard necessary. That monitor is rated for:

HDMI 2.0
DisplayPort 1.2

Thanks Blink! I’ll avoid HDR then, but my cable is fine as I’ve been able to set the higher refresh rate for years on other Linux distros and was able to set it on Gnome w/ EOS just before I re-installed with KDE.

I tried enabling 170 Hz without enabling HDR and now it seems to stick, so HDR looks like it was the issue and I failed at doing basic troubleshooting apparently and am ashamed of myself.
