Unable to move icons to my primary display

After updating today all my icons (but not widgets) moved from my primary monitor to secondary and I can move them but not between the monitors.

I found a thread from july ( Icons/files wont move to second monitor when dragged - #3 by lolzhunter ) which mentions the bug fixed in KDE Frameworks 6.17 but my current version is 6.19.

The update probably switched an option which I can’t find right now, I don’t suspect this is a bug, but I looked around and couldn’t find any.

How strange, I haven’t personally ran into this I updated a few days ago, sounds like a bug even if kde somehow switched your primary monitor to your secondary you should still be able to move icons between, I imagine you can move your mouse across them fine it’s just icons that don’t move

Yes. Both monitors work fine, I can move windows onto them. Just not the icons.

I read somewhere that you need to create a panel (even empty and hidden) on the monitor you want to move the icons to. It definitely sounds like a bug!

I managed to fix it by right clicking on the screen, going into Desktop and wallpaper settings and changing “Layout” to Desktop and then back to Folder view. This lets me move icons and create new files there, but after restart it’s back to being broken.
