Transparency/Opacity Windows KDE Plasma

Hi all,

I just installed EndeavorurOS for the first time and I really like the KDE Plasma Desktop (so far I was a fan of Cinnamon Desktop, but I became more and more annoyed by the fact that windows/applications do not have a uniform style). I would like to make windows transparent though. So far I was not able to get it work. I tried the Window Rules solution but it had no effect (if I activated the Translucency desktop option then the windows become transparent if I move them.

It is a fresh install, so I did not tamper with any options or so. I am using the standard Breeze theme. I found several indications on Google that this theme has in fact the transparency ability.

Does someone had a similar experience and knows the solution to this? As said, I am a first time KDE Plasma user, so there might be an obvious solution which I am not aware of.

I am not sure if further information (like my system, graphics card, etc.) will be helpful for solving this, which is why I decided to post this question without. If this information is in fact necessary, I will of course edit this post and add the relevant information.

What are you trying to make transparent? Some applications support transparency natively(like konsole). If you want everything to be transparent, you need to use a theme that supports transparency which often requires kvantum be installed.

Alternatively, you can use Window rules to force transparency but that will make literally everything transparent which probably isn’t what you want.
