Touchpad not working propery after waking from sleep

Whenever I put my laptop to sleep and wake it up, certain functions stop working. While I can move and click with the touchpad, the three buttons above the touchpad stop working, as well as the red dot between g and h.

My laptop is a ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 Intel.

This sort of thing generally implies a regression in the kernel. Assuming you’re using linux, try linux-lts and see if the issue persists.

Unfortunately, the issue still persists, even with linux-lts

Something important to note is that the issue only happens when suspending by closing the lid. Letting it go to sleep with the lid open and then waking it up does not cause this issue.

It still sounds like a regression to me, especially if it worked previously. Kernel 5.15.13 is incoming, and there’s an update to systemd to 250.1 too.

I found out the issue. I was using traditional S3 sleep. Switching to modern standby fixed the issue.
