Torbrowser flagged as out of date?

Hi, How come torbrowser-launcher 0.3.7-4 is flagged as out of date on 2025-09-25 but it’s last update was 2026-01-10?

The latest release version was released by the tor team as of Jan 28, 2024.

In short:

Maintenance of torbrowser-launcher has been handed to Tor Project,
and the git repository moved to
https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/applications/torbrowser-launcher/

But they didn’t published an release there yet.

I was referring to https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/torbrowser-launcher/

Apparently it might be just because the out of date flag wasn’t reset for some reason.

Well, you haven’t checked the upstream url listed there, which is all that I did.

I did check the upstream link. It actually says it’s a mirror of the gitlab link you gave, not replaced by it.

So the latest release is “Jan 28 2024” but the extra packages last update is “2026-01-10”. What a mess.

Anyway my original question (you should have checked that) was why is it still flagged as out of date on arch packages even though it’s been updated. GPT says that they have forgotten to reset the out of date flag

Maybe someone flagged it as an potential todo, but its still more convenient to pull the github release and adopt the changes they’ve made.

I wouldn’t bother. From my understanding the launcher itself will fetch the latest build. And isn’t out of date.

The torbrowser-launcher package was rebuild due to a python dependency.
