To be or not to be included. Doesn t seem that important now

A while back I made an account with LinuxQuestions.org. It was when this forum was down for a bit. I was checking out the Distributions page, and noticed there are many different distros, but no EOS. I posted a message to the page asking them to add EOS. The response was a link to a thread named: Why Is There No Forum For My Distro?. What stood out to me was the requirement for a distro rep to participate. I get why LQ wants it that way, but EOS forum seems to address EOS just fine;

On another thread on LQ someone asked why there was not a forum for Gentoo. The answer is funny;

“LQ’s policy is that in order for a distro to have a dedicated forum, that an official representative from that distro team agree to participate on it. My understanding is that Jeremy has approached Gentoo on more than one occasion about this, but thus far Gentoo has declined to participate.”

It s not like EOS devs have nothing else to do. In hindsight, I think it s ok that EOS is not on LQ. No need to bow down, grovel, and cater, to be part of something that one can do themselves.
My hat s off to the EOS devs.

We also have alternate modes of comunication in case the forum is down for some reason. The links are on top on your forum page in “Connect with us” tab.

I’m not sure what you are meaning with this. How is requirement of dev to participate equivalent of what’s mentioned on the caption?

I think it would be nice addition to have our own thread on LQ, but I think Forum’s kind of negate that need.

Of course in case of some catastrophe that would be nice backup, because I am not going to start using Telegram simply for because of that.

Succumbing, and or, being subject to LQ rules, and policies, is what I mean. Just bend the knee, and LQ will accommodate… In EOS s case it s un necessary, as the Gentoo devs have also concluded.

If someone can find Linux questions. . . They can probably find this forum here. What’s the need to expand and divide up the forum more? It just seems unnecessary.

Looks like they change their policy :
