This is the third time this AUR package has been updated in three days…so…my single question is: I should just wait for the person to fix it and be patient, right?
I read about 4 threads that said “manual intervention” in them but did not match my peculiar situation.
I don’t want to fix it. I will wait for the maintainer to fix it. Is this a reasonable/realistic position?
If the answer is ‘you have to DIY’ then I’m ready to roll up my sleeves. Either way.
Would appreciate the Flashlight of Clarity. thanks!

validity check error for 127.0.6533.119-1. Something is going on at github and there is 2 different releases for 127.0.6533.119-1. Install worked after change source to replace “-2” instead of $pkgrel for the download folder:
https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium-archlinux/releases/download/$pkgver-2/ungoogled-chromium-$pkgver-$pkgrel-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

disregard. this is bound to be cleared up soon
AUR maintainers are just ordinary people like you and me (and could literally be you and/or me).
Sometimes AUR maintainers have life-issues that get in the way. For example, one maintainer of a number of popular AUR packages was pulled away to the Polish Ukraine border to help allocate refugees. During that time, it was a bit of a case of fend-for-yourself.
Waiting it out might be fine if you have a working version, but if you don’t and you need to install it, you may need to figure it out.
Learning to fix AUR packages yourself is a valuable skill to have, if you intend to get comfortable in the Arch ecosystem.
oh no you have me mistaken for someone else. I’m not that kind of guy. I would never demand anyone do anything for me. I know these people do it for free. i’ve never put myself above anyone, ever. I don’t have many consistencies, but I’m proud of that one.
that said, your last two points are valuable to me. I’ve used this package for years. Looks like it was a github snafu that will be ironed out. Ungoogled’s record of being maintained–outside of creater Eloston–is excellent, that’s why I thought patience would be best.
This ^^^. My next adventure. Thank you for the perspective.
