The native kernel listed last is the clear Linux kernel build. It has the best score but again, I had no internet available.

Sweet? I’m assuming a higher number is better. But I have no idea what that actually means?

Why would I want to switch to that?

i went from performing like a rx 570 to performing like a rx 590

i have an old gigabyte brix a8 that is a cube machine but gets read as though its a laptop by software i will try there too and see what if any performance enhancement i get

I’d rather see a Arch 5.9 vs. Liquorix 5.9

So what’s stopping you? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

yah report back to us what you find… i’m going to do zen 5.9 on the a-8 processor and then liquorix 5.9 next

Now this is an older machine that just wont quit it has an a-8 laptop processor and 16 gb of ddr3 ram and while the improvement wasn’t so dramatic as the other machine it was still an improvement. Also this is the newer test from 2020 from the git repo glmark2-git not glmark2 which is what i posted above.

I’d expect -zen and -lqx performance to be within error bounds as they have the same patches but marginally different default kernel configuration - the differences might manifest in different ways, though.

Well i just did all of these on Artix openrc with the 2020 test. i’ll redo tomorrow all of the same ones on Endeavour and see how they compare but im getting sleepy now. The one caveat here is that while clear linux gave the best score over all, i had not internet connection while running it on Artix which make it kinda useless if that happens on Endeavour as well…

conclusion. the kernel makes a HUGE difference on how your machine performs. some differences are more huge than others. The better your machine, the bigger the difference it seems.
