Systemd-Boot EndeavourOS entry suddenly gone

This morning when starting the laptop my option for endeavouros booting was suddenly gone. With only the W11 option left to choose.

My current install is one disk. I installed Windows first on one half and then installed Endeavouros on the rest. I have enabled the LUKS encryption while using the installer. Secureboot is disabled.

With an USB I booted into an install. Uses gparted to unlock my partition and then get the mapper path from it so I could mount it to /mnt. I did the same for my second partition with esp and boot flags, boot2 to /mnt/efi. Then i used arch-chroot.

I tried reinstall-kernels, bootctl install, removing systemd and installing REFIND. Reinstalling systemd after that didn’t work out. Every time it finds my W11 install fine, but endeavouros is never detected.

Does anyone have any advice?

Okay, weird thing. I disabled fast startup on Windows earlier because it was making my /efi read-only. I was not sure anymore if I tried reinstall-kernels again. So I just chrooted again and did a pacman -Syu and then reinstall-kernels. This made my endeavouros boot again, but the systemd screen didn’t show up it would directly boot. No chance to pick windows or whatever.

So just to try out I installed refind again and now it starts refind, and I can pick the semi-broken systemd as an option and now I can boot seperately to windows and linux. Though this definitely shouldn’t be the situation.

Any things to look for? This is my /efi

At this point you have made so many overlapping changes it is going to be hard to figure out what actually happened.

You could look in /efi/loader/loader.conf and ensure there is still a timeout there.

Yes, that was it. I uncommented the timeout and then it worked as normal again. Systemd now sees both entries again. I removed refind again and now it works correctly. Many thanks!
