System won't boot unless I select fallback

reinstall-kernels does 4 things:

  • Rebuilds the initrds
  • Installs the kernel(s) to the EFI partition
  • Installs the microcode to the EFI partition(mkinitcpio only)
  • Creates/updates the boot entries
