System memory

Hi am using EndeavouOS for some time now but still unknown to many things in the gnu/linux world my pc broke and using my laptop now… ,from monitor my system (memory sensors) it tells me continue the memory heat go to 46c in red color and that is not ok i guess < > 16 GiB available: 15.5 GiB used

can somebody help me out here ?

I am not sure I understand your question. What is the problem you are trying to describe and need help to solve?

my monitoring tell me < > jc42 0 & 1 wich is from my memory always running on high heat 48c is this a problem ? becaus it in red color (mostly that means no good) for this low usage i think ,i use glances for monitoring btw should i worry about it ?

Running glances what does your memory show? Mine is 26c using 2.78GB of 32GB

It’s definitely not my expertise but from [1] it seems that the temperatures you are seeing are not a problem.

I think it’s accurate. Normal temps can be up to 60c and above 65c might be in the high range but extreme temps aren’t reach until 80-95C where you definitely would see issues possibly. You could see issues even in the high range.

I would like to see lower temps. 46c isn’t too high but is above my normal. I think it also depends on what ram it is and if it is rgb and how good the air flow is in the case.

I’ve just read some posts on fora, where people indeed say that it is dependent on the type of memory, the location on the motherboard, the workload. But the range of temperatures that people claimed were ‘nothing to worry about’ were all over the place.

first my apologies for these noob question but am still that < > noob ,and becaus my pc that broke have 128 gig off ram so no problem there i had before and now jump too soon on this thinkin’ from seeing this monitoring say about my memory…. also want to thank you all for the very fast and clear answers you give me… and also thanx SemLraug for pointing out i did not do what i always normal do and that’s search and read :slight_smile: thank you all again for support my dumb nooby question but i had a little over reaction…

124 GB of ram is an odd number? Did you mean 128GB?

I also think it depends on the speed of the ram as newer higher speed ram is going to run hotter. I also wonder if they are 64 GB modules they also may run hotter than say a 16 GB module?

yes sorry :grinning_face: 128 GB, and yes the laptop is 64bit ,just had little panic for i not use it too much before… actually almost never ,now my pc broke i use it every day and it little anoying for charge battery unplug…. charge again - unplug…. i think is good for keep the battery good for some time lomger this way and when i reach the point it goes down too fast i never unplug again and can use it finaly as i did with my computer… becaus fixing the computer is not going to be a fast solution in my case…
