Don’t worry lol I have a drive waiting for this tomorrow
EmdeavourOS
I guess my question is it i3 with sway? Or?
Edit: Or can you put this on KDE?
It is i3 for wayland as oppsed to X which is called sway. If it can I will be the first one to try it lol…
No… i want to!
Don’t make me
Edit: I don’t have enough experience with i3.
Like @joekamprad already said we can do new things together!
Can’t we just enable Wayland for Firefox with an environment variable? Regarding screencasting this is now possible with Firefox 84.0-1,
Welcome aboard!

- Screenshot Scripts Work
- Weather Script works - set location in /.config/sway/scripts/weather.sh
Problems:
- Waybar takes ages to launch - not sure what the problem is it does show up approx 15sec
- Still set your path’s manually in WOFI and WLOGOUT , because they only take the absolute path.
- Wofi’s colour are wrong - i’m not really good with colours
- Bar - All aspects are there but the theming is wrong
Since screenshot does work here you go - (I will improve the bar -I promise!)

Yeah that is what I was thinking - I wondering how we would have that in the script but that’s probably possible!
Also welcome aboard!
Does anyone have a idea for a text editor? I’m using Geany right now… but there’s definetly better ones!
Grimshot is included in the sway repos, so maybe we could use that instead: https://github.com/swaywm/sway/blob/master/contrib/grimshot
Currently Manjaro is using it like this: https://github.com/Manjaro-Sway/desktop-settings/blob/sway/community/sway/etc/sway/modes/screenshot
Here’s mako

I ended up using grim and slurp both in the official repositories.
I’m having trouble making each screenshot a different file, as in they overwrite each other. Manjaro doesn’t seem to be doing that as well but I think it’d be helpful
Is it just me who doesn’t understand the way Manjaro sorts their files! I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING!
Issue 5732 on sway github repo is describing something like this.
Do we need to include one? It is a pretty minimal install anyway
@joekamprad wanted one on the bspwm edition so I’m guessing it’s something we’d need here to.
Slightly more reminiscent of i3’s however TBH i think the old one looks better.

@morten-b is waybar something your comfortable with? I could use your help
We can set environment variables in ~/.config/environment.d/*.conf but I’m unsure if it is see from Sway, do to this description:
Configuration files in the environment.d/ directories contain lists of environment variable assignments for services started by the systemd user instance.
If we go for LightDM they can be sourced from /etc/profile, ~/.profile, /etc/xprofile and ~/.xprofile. See LightDM
@OdiousImp what are your thoughs with waybar? I’ve only played with it a little
Should we include somthing like wob or avizo for volume and brightness overlay?
