Steam not starting after update

After an update this month, my steam is not starting anymore. I can’t figure out what is the issue. I tried removing it and installing again, even the native install. The weird thing is it is working with X11 (I installed to test other things) but there is a catch, some pages are bugged and crashing the app. I have another PC with Endeavouros but it doesn’t have the same issue.

Your the second user reporting steam is not working. Guess i am lucky.

Try downgrading the kernel, or if amd uses any drivers the drivers from amd.

Just to understand, why should be the kernel or amd? Even if the steam is working with x11?

Kernel 6.16.8 has issues with certain amd chips.

Sorry, never did a downgrade. I used this command

sudo downgrade linux
sudo downgrade linux-headers

If I try to use eos-update, I get that they need to update to 6.16.8 but still didn’t solve my issue.

Is there a way to get more info about the issue with Steam? I don’t know, some kind of log file?

The log files for Steam are here: ~/.local/share/Steam/logs. I usually follow console-linux.txt as it shows how Steam starts up. Here is typical output when I boot my system:

I’ve had good luck running the linux-cachyos kernel, before that it was working with linux-zen.

My issue was solved after I downgraded my mesa package from 1:25.2.3 to 1:25.2.2.
