SSL certificate endeavouros.db alpix.eu has expired

ok, by trusted servers I mean using the original main root source only …

All of them are, once the main get updated others get updated too. But the best person would be to answer is @Alpix

Is it okay to still run sudo pacman -Syu or yay to update my laptop or should I wait until the certificate issue is resolved before updating my system I wonder?

I just ran sudo pacman -Syu and no error this time. So safe to assume the issue has been fixed.

Issue is fixed for 5 hours now,
should be working for everybody.

If you have more than one mirror in your list and a mirror fails, pacman will out print the error and try the next one.
So general speaking, you should have more than one mirror in your list to avoid having a single point of failure.

Thanks for your quick fix!

And 100% right it was breaking anything for anyone.
Just a good sign that the security options are working!

Looks like this error is back again, at least for me.

error: failed retrieving file 'endeavouros.db' from mirror.alpix.eu : SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired

Yep same here, just noticed that it errors out because the certification has expired.

Does that mean it will happen here too? (ca.gate.endeavouros.com). Will a restart fix if it does happen?

No, that sub-domain isn’t created under the Alpix domain, it is an endeavouros.com sub-domain, which is separate from the Alpix one.

Good - I’d hate to have it misfire without my knowing! I’ve been happy with its reliability so far… (given how old the system is!)… and running it on EndeavourOS has been trouble-free. Perhaps my ‘1 week behind’ updates are the answer!
