Spontaneous system freezes

It removes the intel video drivers. This causes your machine to fallback to the generic “modesetting” driver. The modesetting driver is less performant but more compatible.

Hard system freezes are almost always caused by failing hardware or drivers.

They can also be a pain to troubleshoot because often nothing shows up in the logs because the hard freeze inhibits logging.

I had the same issue with freezing after an update, the problem was with kernel 5.12, everithing works fine with lts kernel

And yes LTS kernel can help in somecases for sure!
