šŸ•·ļø Spider-Noir - A new Spider-Man series with Nicolas Cage

Spider-Noir

A new Spider-Man series? With Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man?? :exploding_head:

  • And it’s being aired two ways, black & white and color.

ā€œSpider-Noirā€ - True-Hue Full Color Trailer

ā€œSpider-Noirā€ - Authentic Black & White Trailer

Well from the typical Peter Parker, high school or college student, we go to a retiree (Cage is 62).

must be flashback-driven with a younger actor in parts? But that’s him getting beat up in the trailer ^^.

Interesting.

My favorite Nic Cage quote: ā€œThe reason I work continuously is it’s not good for a guy like me to have a lot of free time.ā€

I understand this.

As do I.

I’ve avoided this like the plague. Thought it was a movie that had already been released. With most of Cage’s work the last several years I honestly think I would rather get the plague.

Perhaps I’m the last to realise this  but Nicholas Cage was the voice of Spider-Man Noir in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie. That movie was good fun.

But I must admit, I have turned off most Nicholas Cage movies I’ve attempted in recent times. I’m not sure I’d prefer the plague… bees maybe? :winking_face_with_tongue:

not-the-bees

Nicolas Cage Bullshit GIF

Not even remotely absurd unless you mean Cage then yes he is absolutely absurd.

Now let loose that PLAGUE of BEES.

FYI Cage’s bit about keeping busy is pure BULLSHIT. He like Bruce Willis got forced to make crap movie after crap to keep roofs over their heads cause they blew everything they ever earned.

The trailer looks pretty crazy. It’s like watching a ā€œwhat if Nicholas Cage was spidermanā€ AI generated video

I might give it a go. I have enjoyed Nicholas Cage movies… it’s just been a while.

what-do-you-mean-nicolas-cage

that was the 90’s conventional wisdom…and IRS-related. It’s got to be paid off by now.

I still believe his quote is not bullshit since women, drugs, and trouble were his 90s/80s M.O. and the quote was recent so he was probably alluding to his past.

Yeah, agree, like Cusack who he was in 4 movies with, it’s shitty movie after shitty movie. Cusack nowhere as prolific as Cage but probably not in debt  or was in debt…

I respect Cage for his brilliant body of work as a younger man (valley girl, snake eyes, face/off, wild at heart, etc. but for every 10 of his shitty movies he still hits gold as far as box office. Still.

Cage=Perserverance

Could I stomach his whole body of work? NO

Am I glad he’s still out there doing his thing? YES

He was great in Renfield. And Joe. And has some iconic 80’s & 90’s films. Will be interesting to see this one.

No it not the ā€œ90’s conventional wisdomā€. More like Cage DESPERATE. I don’[t put any of them on pedestals. They are people doing a job like anyone else. My plumber deserves more applause than any actor / actress and I would applaud the plummer.

Nick Cage almost played Superman once as well. I watched this documentary about it; it was both funny and bizarre.

I also really enjoyed the 2022 film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. He plays a fictionalized version of himself, and they are cracking jokes about his real-life movies basically the whole film. I think even folks who are not a fan of him would find it very funny!

I like Nicolas Cage and have enjoyed every movie I’ve seen him in. Got nothing bad to say about him.

The only movie in which I like Nicolas Cage is Wild at Heart

I like him in anything but can’t recall seeing that one. Looks like it was when he was a lot younger.

Yeah, It was in early 90s

The story of Sailor and Lula

Yeah, I agree. I haven’t seen all of his films, but I’ve enjoyed all the ones I have.

I always tend to feel like ā€˜Oh it’s Nicholas Cage again.’ not ā€˜wow, i love this character.’ Maybe another way of putting it is, I feel like if I’ve seen one of his movies, i’ve seen them all ?

same here
