Hi,
my i3 installation has some issues with some apps if I put my laptop to suspend or even just close the lid. Discord then shows the content of the last window I had open on another workspace, (eg. firefox) and VMware VMs are just full black, with the VMWare player GUI still showing up. Same issue happens when tabbing out of games.
I tried with a restart of i3 with shift+meta+r
but that does not help in that case. Is there anything I can do to improve that?
could be picom issue?
Some more info about graphical system would be needed to get a starting point…
inxi -Gaz
Sure, sorry was not sure what data would be needed.

Xwayland

You said that you arerunning i3 but you do not mention it is installed aside other DEs what exactly is your setup ?
When having a full DFE installed aside i3 you have to setup some stuff to not intefere one with the other…
like there is dex p.e. what will autostart applications and stuff from autostart (xdg) if in cas e kde is installed it could be you are loading stuff from kde into your i3 session. you can stop it by uninstalling dex or disable it in your i3 config file.
Sorry guys, youre completely right, I didnt update my specs since I created the thread. So the current setup is this way
- i3wm
- KDE Xserver
- KDE Wayland (for testing)
The Inxi output from above was outside the KDE XServer session, not the i3. This is the output out of an i3 session:

Installation wise, i started with the i3 version of endeavour and installed KDE some time after. As far as I can tell, I noticed no real issues with autostarting apps or something, but that doesnt have to mean much…
i see this indeed… on kde p.e wayland session apps using xwayland are somehow lagging stuttering a little–
still an issue… ifr dex is in use… you may not see that it starts applications from kde… but it can be still stuff starting that is causing issues.
So you should try disable/remove dex to see if the issue is related.
you find the settings in config:
Understood, indeed the second entry for dex was active, like in your example. I commented that out now, I have a look at the behavior now.
