Are you using the Radeon driver on EOS?
Some info from Gentoo
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Radeon#xorg.conf
Do both systems use the same $SHELL ? Which one(s) do they use?
$ inxi -b

Iâm going to mark this solved.
Last/FINAL issue was icons still showing, but desktop was locked, but not open windows.
The original solve was when I first changed the video card,
everything working great, went from the
RV370 [Radeon X300] to the RV516 [Radeon X1300/X1550 Series]
No driver updates or changes need, booted straight to destop and no issues for 2 daysâish.
I assume itâs the card going bad⌠âBAD CARD, BAD -->SHAME!â ![]()
BUT, while using the new card, Mesa and something else updatedâŚmaybe there was fixes?
IDK, but I put a note on the old card Iâll see 2 years from now,
and put it in my box where the newer, old card wasâŚ
I mean everyone has a parts box, shelf or room right? haha
Thank you for the helps.
I think we need a new video of the card being retired from service. ![]()
hmmmâŚ
