Hi everyone,
I’m running the latest version of EndeavourOS with systemd on an ASUS f541u laptop.
When I try to shut down the system, instead of powering off, the screen fills with endless PCIe AER (Advanced Error Reporting) messages, and the laptop never actually powers down.
Here’s a sample of the repeated log output:
Oct 04 18:55:00 ascension-x541uv kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.5: [ 0] RxErr (First)
Oct 04 18:55:00 ascension-x541uv kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.5: AER: Multiple Correctable error message received from 0000:00:1c.5
Oct 04 18:55:00 ascension-x541uv kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.5: AER: found no error details for 0000:00:1c.5
Oct 04 18:55:00 ascension-x541uv kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1c.5: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Correctable, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID)
This loop repeats endlessly, preventing the laptop from shutting down properly.
Has anyone experienced something similar on ASUS devices (or others)?
Is there a way to disable AER reporting for this PCIe port, or perhaps another fix so the system can shut down cleanly?
Thanks in advance!
