Jesus! :astonished:
And what’s the weight of your new one?

Must cost you fortune :upside_down_face:

If we take the ā€œnakedā€ weight, then 9.5 kg. If you hang tools, a spare camera, a pump, two flasks of water, then add another 2.2 kg.

Yes. After the invested amount exceeded $ 3,200, I stopped counting. To preserve your mental health

I wish. I have a new build coming soon and I don’t really see stock amounts changing anytime soon. If anything they are supposed to get worse. I am just not an nvidia kind of guy so just stuck really.

The only thing i didn’t install was a new video card, went with Intel UHD 630 for now. I hope its not another year or more before their back in stock on a regular basis lol. :grimacing:

And they have the audacity to charge shipping on top of that price? Bah! Glad I got lucky on my 1650 Super.

And even more glad I don’t game!

@BONK
Is the RX 6700XT going into a new build?

Yes. I did mention that a few posts back. So far it is looking like a 5800x, asus prime x570, 32gib 3600 ddr4, 2 tib samsung nvme, PSU, case, and AIO liquid cooler by bequiet<—I am a fan of bequiet and german products in general.

Bit the bullet and went with one of those tiny 60% keyboards too.
My desktop keyboard was the only one still being belgian azerty layout, after changing my thinkpads to US layout.
Because of this I was having a lot of typos lately.

This isn’t a custom keyboard, bought this one of amazon after watching sone reviews of it, stating that it was a really good budget friendly option.

Went with Gateron blue switches, instead of the Kailh brown one in my previous keyboard. I definitely prefer these ones!

Thought i was going to have major problems with having so few keys now, but until now the only thing I have to get used to, is having to use FN to use arrow keys

Keyboard is a Dierya DK61e if anyone is interested… they have a bluetooth version too (only discovered that After buying this one )

Nice. Remember my cpu/mobo/ram upgrade ? My Sapphire RX460 died the same day (ugh). I’ve had it checked and they said the main gpu chip had to be changed etc and the repair price was hefty, so I was also considering this model for my rig but it retails at 1540 USD where i’m at so i went with the most reasonable card i could get: MSI GTX1660S. Haven’t used nvidia for almost 15 years and the old OS install threw a fit while trying to boot (with amd drivers) so I just reinstalled.

What are those for? Looks like a wide-angle and a ā€˜gentle’ telephoto - but it’s probably not for a 35mm like I have!

I have several older primes and Im selling those off and replacing them with these 2 Zooms which are wider aperture and cover all the range + some of the primes. When i first started getting gear i had to go budget and now Im swapping into getting some serious kit pieces.

The Sigma 18-35 1.8 and 50-100 1.8 are REALLY nice and actually cheaper than the Prime Sigma ART lenses. These 2 out perform all of my primes minus my Macros

Im also gearing up for doing some shots at a series of car shows and I want some real tack sharp lenses

For once it isn’t an old thinkpad

This is something I wanted for a while now.
I’ve been collecting various handheld consoles for a quite some time now, but the PSP Go always was a bit too pricy for me.

Still wasn’t cheap, but it’s in really good condition so I went for it.

I was shocked to see how small it actually is compared to a regular PSP 3000

Probably just PS1 and PSP titles on there.
I have other (more powerful) handhelds for homebrew

My USB backup drive decided to bite the dust today. My old drive, a 1TB HGST laptop drive in an enclosure, would overheat, transfer speeds would slow down, and then it would stop working. It would overheat even with the enclosure open and a fan blowing across the drive. I replaced it with a 2TB Western Digital My Passport.

HDD

I did manage to get the data off the old drive. I used an old trick from the days of MFM hard drives, ie the ā€œstone ageā€. I wrapped it in an ice pack to keep it cool. The only downside to doing this, the drive is now dead.
