Happened to me more than once… ’cause we all didn’t use the card punch’s auto-numbering feature. One card to insert, hundreds to re-punch… and then cross your fingers for 2–3 days until the 3000-page core dump printout arrived, on 15x12" continuous form paper. (Our university only had a RJE (Remote Job Entry) station to the IBM/370-158.)

A fresh install is like a blank canvas. You have to install dozens of theme packs plus a different compositor and tinker with the settings until something breaks. It’s kind of a rule.
