As a library employee, I tell people I work in old-school IT.
As for card catalogs, our library system saved some when they were replaced. They’re used for interesting displays, like the seed library and so forth. Alphabetized, naturally.
The drawer fronts have become the most coveted award in the system. I have one:

Steve Jobs did take a lot from BSD and did not give anything back. In that he joins a long list of Silicon valley honchos who built their products and services on the back of volunteers and gave nothing back. This is continuing even today with companies like OpenAI and other frontier models AI labs.
Disclaimer: I adore Apple laptops, its desktops and some of their other products. Their battery life, performance and display are simply mind blowing. For example Apple Neo as an entry level laptop beats anything in the market and at the price point there is nothing in the market that comes close.
