I was trying to figure out why my heater wasn’t working just before (it has been a bit too chilly for me the last few mornings/nights), first thing I checked was the power point and fuse box - I had forgot to hit the on button.

Yeah I always wondered what was the origin of the word daemon? Given how similar it is to the word Demon, why did original unix folks settle on such a word. Any ideas anyone?

Usually I have to say it as I am often a minute or two too late 
So did not want to use the original pagan term daiman and ended up with daemon. Got it. We engineers truly have a dull and dry sense of creativity.
