I think I had XFCE setup for him, but it was a while ago now
yeah my friend also installed xfce
it ran smooth
I was joking. They were talking about the “new” Zorin on some podcast.
Oof. That’s a tough one to recommend anyone.
My root/home partition grew and became a bit too heavy to my liking so I decided to refresh my install. Good for practice, this time it took me less than 2 hours to complete setting up everything (not counting logging in to my accounts, of course!). Night Light gave a (not-so-)nice surprise by refusing to work, found out colord wasn’t starting at all, pulled hair for 45 minutes while browsing for solutions (and found none)… decided to downgrade it and libcolord by one version and the problem magically went away. Upgraded back to the latest version and all seems well so far. Lucky!
Same old boring layout. Reduced the number of programs installed, too!
Also, happy belated New Year. ![]()
I’ve switched back and forth between Dracula, Rose-Pine, Nightfox-Dusk and Tokyo Night for a while.
Xfce+gtk3-classic, back to Picom since Compfy is abandoned.
Apart from changing few colors in the GTK theme, WM theme is my own and i also wanted my terminal to be more colorful, installed grc, replaced cat with highlight and lsd with eza.
Thanks to @Stagger_Lee I went through the net install setup instead of the calamares installer and this is an infinitely easier/better/less bloated setup. Thanks again, this was a lot more fun. In whatever it is, like just under 2 weeks I’ve had lots of flatpak updates, one very minor update, and that’s it. And I found this absolute gem of a wallpaper - I couldn’t NOT use this once I found it.
Do you have a link for the wallpaper ? ![]()
Yes, it’s from here! They create many other wonderful images too. ![]()
Was going to share a screenshot but it would look a bit weird as the wallpaper is animated
As usual there is a matching splashscreen to go along with it (be sure to read instructions for this one as it needs to manually resized, I have no idea how to get this one to resize to to the screen resolution), The wallpaper is also in the repo.

i prolly have to make a galileo neo edit after this one
Go for it, this one is actually a lot “simpler” to put together, it’s making the gif that takes the all the work.
Nice gnome set up. At the risk of being trolled, I have to say gnome is pretty awesome.
Thanks!
Indeed it is!
And when it comes to being trolled, as GNOME user, one reaches a point that you don’t bother anymore ![]()
Thank you.
So many to pick from ![]()
How you get those application launcher on third picture ?
That looks like the Ditto Menu to me
