same same but totally different wallpaper love it :star_struck:

My wallpaper consists out of the color code #2d2d2d essentially.

There just a silly time progress bar in orange. And the rest of my desktop is managed window zones,
I’ve got a 34" inch ultra wide monitor and I’ve got several kitty instances running permanently.

Top left is a fish shell using tide as a prompt, bottom left is running yazi (terminal file manager) top right is a space holder for pop-out videos, beneath that is bottom (btm) and last but not least ncspot (spotify client).

Most of the time I’ve got the browser in the middle or other programs.

Simply KDE Plasma with my own color choices and variations of specific themes based on Breeze-dark more or less. And a dozen of window rules for automatic window placement.

Using zen as a browser where I’ve made some UI modifications to my liking. But that is a work-in-progress… as well as other refinements which I could tackle eventually. But I’m mostly procrastinating

Please forgive my ArchBang based screenshot… To make up for it I have loaded sowm into latest version of EndeavourOS iso live.

Right out of here before Joe catches me!!!

Oh! New thread!

Started building my Fedora 42 image a while back and checking out how it runs on my laptop. One thing I’d like to highlight is how fast GNOME Software is now (Flatpak only, I remove gnome-software-rpm-ostree ).

Featuring NF Code. Takes some space yes but it’s very fun to look at. Discovered this font thanks to Minds Beneath Us (amazing game btw) and now I have it on all 3 of my machines.

Otherwise, same old, very boring vanilla-ish GNOME look that everyone knows I am used to.

Vanilla GNOME is nice even though I tend to spoil it with some extensions

with apologies to @thefrog

all you guys/girls who want to discuss Swap please make a thread. I’d love to join it. I’ve made swap easily in the terminal and gparted. more to the point there are these new concepts/realities called Zram and Zswap that I’d love to learn and talk about.
(that’ll be the last of me and ram on this thread)

Is there a reason why you won’t make such thread yourself? If you do, i’d love to join it :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Wasn’t my detour. I know how to make standard swap and can assist those who want to. I’m more interested in the Z stuff and it how it relates and if anyone had opinions on that vs. standard swap,

Well, that’s a good reason to make a thread and ask for this stuff. If you don’t want to make one yourself, I can dot it on your behalf :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Otherwise, good info already in ArchWiki, really.

will start there, thank you. it’s just that sometimes I understand humans talking to me 100X better than the manual. in fact I’ll do you one better:
I will use that Humongous search bar at top and peruse the Zswap/Zram stuff myself. Then not get it all and finally post a thread  !
sorry @thefrog !

I get you! I use some too, but nothing that changes the traditional GNOME behavior. Don’t really care about making things look prettier than GNOME already is. These days I don’t even feel like switching wallpapers anymore :joy:
