Playing around with CachyOS openbox on my spare laptop. Not quite sure if I am impressed with it yet or not.

Thanks @anon91115920 ! That’s pacseek (https://github.com/moson-mo/pacseek). It’s terminal user interface for searching/installing packages. It’s quite handy and it can be found from AUR.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry for the delay in replying, but I went to work.

So, here is the output of the command you gave me:

> [sermor@sermor-eospc ~]$ echo -e "\\0033[1;31mWeather:\\0033[0m $(curl -s "wttr.in/San+Salvo?lang=it&format=%l:+%t+%c+%C,+%p\n")"
Weather: San+Salvo: +23°C 🌦   Pioggia a tratti nelle vicinanze, 0.2mm
[sermor@sermor-eospc ~]$

Then, I tried to put the script you gave me in the fastfetch configuration file (config.jsonc), but the “weather” item does not appear in the output.

This is the current fastfetch configuration file without the weather script:

{
  "$schema": "https://github.com/fastfetch-cli/fastfetch/raw/dev/doc/json_schema.json",
  "modules": [
    "title",
    "separator",
    "os",
    "host",
    "kernel",
    "uptime",
    {
        "type": "command",
        "key": "OS Age",
        "text": "birth_install=$(stat -c %W /); current=$(date +%s); time_progression=$((current - birth_install)); days_difference=$((time_progression / 86400)); echo $days_difference days",
        "keyColor": "magenta"
    },
    "packages",
    "shell",
    "display",
    "de",
    "wm",
    "wmtheme",
    "theme",
    "icons",
    "font",
    "locale",
    "cursor",
    "terminal",
    "terminalfont",
    "cpu",
    "gpu",
    "vulkan",
    "memory",
    "swap",
    "disk",
//    "localip",
//    "battery",
//    "poweradapter",
    "break",
    "colors",
    "break"
  ]
}

And this is what I have when I start the terminal:

Scusa amico, I was so occupied with wttr format codes & fastfetch module construct I forgot to wrap curl -s 'blabla' inside echo $(), so curl gets the response from the server & says … nothing :person_facepalming:

Click for solution details

Just wrap the curl command & add the entire block at the end of your fastfetch config (don’t forget to put a comma after the last entry, ie: "break",), should look like this, I just installed fastfetch & tested fine:

    {
      "type": "command",
      "key": "Weather",
      "text": "echo $(curl -s 'https://wttr.in/San%20Salvo?lang=it&format=%l,+%t+%c+%C,+%p')"
    }

Output:
Weather: San Salvo, +22°C 🌦 Pioggia a tratti nelle vicinanze, 0.2mm

Apologies to all for unintended mini thread hijack, thumbs up this post if anyone wants this posted as a separate thread for reference, @Sermor if you want a longer discussion post a new thread & link to it here.

Thank you so much. It works!

Here is the result:

For the thread yes, if I wanted I could open a separate one and link here. Maybe I’ll put the whole procedure for newbies like me, so they can find it useful.
