Solus is the only second stable distro i would consider.
But that’s just me.
It does (maybe) make some sense to install from another genealogy (ie non-Arch based).
However, there is an argument to be made that if something breaks on any given distro, as long as you don’t update the other…you should be good. From that standpoint, something that you know (ie arch based) may be better.
Or for that matter, it doesn’t matter and chose something that you’re interested in.

For a non arch based Linux system I like Linux mint Debian (LMDE) with the default Cinnamon desktop. Stable for new users, easy use it all the Family, it was main distro for a long time.
