Screen is black - all looks like night-setup: well this drives me nuts - how to undo this - how to get rid of this behaviour

System Settings > Appearance

Change Global theme to something that doesn’t have “Dark” in its name. There are previews of each one shown.

You can also check Plasma Theme and Colors and change them if you want, but start with Global Theme.

Then right-click on desktop, seslect “Configure Desktop and Wallpaper” and change your wallpaper if you want.
