Reverse VNC?

Hi!

I have had EOS installed on my mum’s PC in the UK for a few years now, she is totally un-techy and we have had almost no probs - love it - THANKS!

However, every so often I reverse VNC into her PC from here in Portugal, and have been doing this with an alias for x11vnc -display :0 -connect MY.STATIC.IP on her end, and me using Vinagre in listening mode at my end (on ArchLabs) with success

However, I just noticed that Vinagre is not maintained, for quite some time

So, my question is, what can I use instead?

I think I can do it with vncviewer via TigerVNC and CLI, but I tried vncviewer -listen and it didnt work (I have correct port forwarded my end and its the same one she is using)

Am I doing the vncviewer thing correctly &/or are there any other GUI apps with Reverse VNC for my case?

Thanks for any tips or clues you may think of

Leigh

Hi @Leigh ,
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. It’s me.
Tailscale & Rustdesk are In reserve (SIC!)
Edit: If X11 acceptable but maybe Wayland is going to be OK soon.
Edit2:
From EnOS sway I was able to connect and see the camera of EnOS Plasma Wayland on the other side.
(xwayland and xwayland-satellite were installed)
