does anyone know of a DM that plays well with plasma, uses a wayland composer and supports remote login. I initially tried GDM but there remote login implementation only works with gnome, or at least I could not select plasma from the remote login screen. I was going to try regreet which wlroot based with wlvnc but I was not able to get it working in a VM, I still need to give it a try on real hardware.
To follow up in case anyone is curious. I am playing with wayvnc. I already have KDE so sharing a session is simple with KRDP. I changed the DM from SDDM to Greetd with regreet and sway. So now when I’m at the login screen wayvnc (tied to my local network only) runs as well. So from the client computer I can VNC to the server computer and login, which closes sway and starts kde, on the client the vnc session closes and then I have to switch the KDE RDP session. It’s not smooth but it works.
