Reddit broke the stock market, and it's fabulous

Looks about right seeing as that was my basic view on it. hahahaha.

Sort of a stock market flash mob? If regular people learn they can use social media to pool their wealth they can take control of the financial markets. Our government will not allow this to stand.

Why would anyone want to have this happen. Most of us have a vested interest in the stock market whether we know it or not. Our pensions get invested in it and such and yes there needs to be controls on it. Wealthy individuals or corporations or investors or hedge funds etc should not be able to use ways and means to manipulate it. It’s fine if people want to have an intelligent conversation about what has gone on but i don’t particularly find this funny or amusing. This kind of stuff affects every day lives of people and in my opinion is not something i care to banter about. Id rather look forward to better things.

Hedge Funds destroy peoples lives each and every week with their deliberate manipulation of the markets for profit.

Their sociopathic comeback line is always “That is capitalism for ya, some win and some lose”. Well, now they are losing, with the same tactics they employ being used against them.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

As i said before we all have a vested interest in stock markets one way or another. I also said i agree there needs to be controls so that people cannot manipulate it just as these people have. Whether it’s these people or the anyone else! Period! I don’t find this amusing and i do not like this banter back & forth like it’s a big joke. Because the reality of it is … it’s not! Although this lounge area was set up to have a little flexibility to discuss things other than EndeavourOS this isn’t reddit or twitter or some other social media platform. If people want to go on about this kind of stuff i think they should take it elsewhere. If on the other hand people want to have an intelligent discussion over what happened that’s different. So far i haven’t seen that.

Careful, you’re sounding like you want to take your ball back because people are disagreeing with you…

It’s exactly that. They are all capitalists when they can manipulate the market for their profit. The moment their schemes fail and they lose money, they cry “solidarity”, “socialism” and want a bailout at the taxpayer’s expense (corporate welfare).

Either they are capitalists and the markets are free, or they are not. They should not be allowed to have it both ways.

Personally, I hope they all become dirt poor.

In theory I agree with some of what you said in as much as I def espouse the idea that when you pick up and use the tools of the enemy that you become the enemy and there does exist I think the real danger that the top one percent could go nuclear and drives us all into slavery by doubling and tripling down on the hedge fund behavior. It is also true that so many people are so frustrated that hedge fund behavior goes unchecked and they are just plain out of ideas as to what else to do about it. As far as the forum goes, don’t be like that please and thank you.
