in the past used: Gentoo, opensuse, slackware
I cannot make a precise ranking. But there are distros i like (means i like to use), and distros that i do not like to use.
The first group contains EndeavourOS, Arch, Debian, Ubuntu Mate and some othersā¦
The second group is for Fedora Gnome, Opensuse, Manjaro, ans some othersā¦
I am waiting for the coming Slackware 15.0 release to see in which group it belongs (there is many years now that i have not used the old Slackware)

Yes, youāre right, but the four major distributions came into being before 2000, and at the turn of the millennium, they were the dominant ones.
