I’ve noticed my PC has started to make crackling sounds for a few seconds when playing audio/video. It’s usually at the beginning of a video and also when resuming playback.
I’ve tried a few suggestions from the Arch wiki, but still no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks
This tends to be due to powersaving of the audio chipset - when the chipset powers on there’s a “pop”.
There are a few potential solutions depending on your powersaving setup, e.g. TLP has a specific configuration setting, and there are subsystem-specific configuration options like https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture/Troubleshooting#Popping_sound_after_resuming_from_suspension for ALSA.
