Radiotray-ng not initializing. . .

[richardc@richard-minipcpn50 ~]$ radiotray-ng
radiotray-ng: error while loading shared libraries: libjsoncpp.so.25: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can’t get this program to initialize in Plasma. . . . any idea’s?

Rich;)

The package needs to be rebuilt against new libraries.

First be sure that all your repo packages are updated:

pacman -Syu

Then run:

yay -S radiotray-ng

When you get the prompt asking you if you want to cleanbuild packages, answer A (for “All”) and let the build finish. This will rebuild the package as opposed to simply reinstalling it.

Thanks. . . installed the git version. I get a different icon on the task bar, different from radiotray-ng which shows a radio tower. The git version has a small box with light on it. It now works.

I would go back to the AUR. mine is playing just fine tonight and I tried a lot of stations after reading your post here.
I have gotten the “error when loading” messages before.
today, because it had been a month, I did the reflector and mirror update commands with yay -Syyu in-between. so no problems today. (the stuff from the idiot’s guide here).
good luck. @Stagger_Lee 's is likely the better way to do it and I’ve done it that way too.
