Question relating to user_pkglist

In reference to this thread concerning the inclusion of user_pkglist in an EOS install, when I run

pacman -Qent

I get a large list. I can see the apps I want to add to the user_pkglist, but half of the list I m not sure about. Particularly the DE files. I m tempted to wait until after the install to add other desktop environments, but if their s a way to add other de s to the user_pkglist file how would I do it? Also the endeavour, and eos files. Will they be part of a new install, or do I need to add them to the user_pkglist also?

I actually do my list after the initial install. this helps me incase there are problems downloading and executing the files. (I have a slow internet) I would recommend you only install one desktop at a time however if you insist on having more than one DE then I would not install them all at once I think this caused issues and is one of the reasons we no longer offer the ability to install more than one DE.

Just install one DE/WM after another. Also, use different users. Having more than one DE/WM under one user breaks things most of the time.

This includes all the packages the installer already installs so you shouldn’t really use in a user_pkglist file as-is. You would want to limit it to only packages you want installed.

I did a eos budgie install in a vm. I included about 6 apps from that list, and it went smooth as butter. Where are the head scratching, and hair pulling moments? It s not even like Linux anymore. You all are doing something wrong. I mean right
