Problem with amd radeon driver

Hello !
I just wanted to launch my main game on my pc (Counter Strike 2) after updating my radeons graphics today. But, I got this error message while lanching CS2…

The error message is in french, but in english it means :

“Failure to initialise Vulkan. Please make sure your graphics card and it’s drivers are compatible with Vulkan 1.2+.”

I didn’t changed anything into my hardware, so I guess it’s a problem due to drivers…

Can someone help me please ?

Make sure you have vulkan-radeon installed and not amdvlk

As you can see here, I already have it, and up to date. That’s what I updated today.

[nath@nath-b550gamingxv2 ~]$ sudo pacman -S vulkan-radeon
[sudo] Mot de passe de nath :

If you’re getting the “Failed to initialize Vulkan” error after updating AMD drivers, this setup should restore Vulkan 1.2 support and proper driver configuration:

Install Vulkan and Mesa packages
sudo pacman -S vulkan-radeon lib32-vulkan-radeon mesa lib32-mesa

Install Vulkan tools
sudo pacman -S vulkan-tools

Check Vulkan version
vulkaninfo | grep Version

Verify active GPU driver
lspci -k | grep -A3 VGA

Clear Steam shader cache
rm -r ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/shadercache/*

Steam launch option for ACO compiler
RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command%

This setup works reliably with Mesa and AMD GPUs. If the issue persists, check for driver conflicts or unsupported hardware. :slightly_smiling_face:

Can you share the output of yay -Qs vulkan ? That would only list the currently installed packages that inlcude the phrase vulkan on your system, which might be helpful for troubleshooting.

You will probably need the 32 bit package as well: lib32-vulkan-radeon

Okay, I just used downgrade (with yay -S downgrade) to install a previous vulkan-radeon driver !
