So I remember seeing recently on reddit an FYI about a recent CUPS update breaking printer configs, but I’ve not for the life of me been able to find it again. I very rarely print but today needed to spit out a few pages and go figure my printer was not recognized and I couldn’t access any settings.
I have the latest cups and print-manager installed, but when I go to Settings -> Printers I get the following screen:
And then when I try to use the cups interface via the web:
EDIT: forgot another “fix” attempt, running
sudo systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd.service
gives me Failed to enable unit: Unit file org.cups.cupsd.service does not exist.
Does anyone happen to have the reddit post link or know offhand what the simple, couple-line fix was to get things going again? Thanks!
