Possible Nvidia GPU Driver Crashes

I am having occasional crashes that seem to only happen when playing a game, I at least don’t remember ever having the crash unless I was playing a game. But lately I’ve been having crashes where the screen will go a solid color typically gray and then after a random amount of time will go black. When this happens sometimes there is a stutter at first but then I can hear the game sound and tell it’s responding to input still. I had crashes where my second monitor even stays perfectly functional while the main monitor with my game on it is solid black.

Here is the output of

*inxi -Fxxxz*

and then **journalctl -p3 -xb** shortly after crashing and rebooting.

I am honestly not sure what to do for trouble shooting beyond that so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am going to try to do a fresh install of the drivers and see what happens.

@BeanLinux
There are 3 newer Bios versions available for this board. :thinking:

That’s a good call, I’ll do that next. Thank you. That’s definitely one of the things I forget to update/check for updates on.

please use code tags :wink:
and welcome to the purple fun :enos:

Is the main monitor on when it goes black or has it shut off? Are you using a controller or mouse and keyboard when this happens? If you middle click on power and battery in the system tray to disable sleep and screen locking does the problem persist?

The main monitor is on, but black, and it’s on mouse and keyboard. I wanna say it’s happened on controller too but I rarely use a controller. I just disabled the sleep and screen locking as well to see if that helps. Thanks for the advice. I haven’t had another crash yet today but the crashing can be pretty intermittent it seems.
