[POLL] Sports Talk - Who's playing and what are you watching?

we didn’t have playoffs here for a while. three promoted, three relegated. that was it.
i think the system is very fair. if you don’t make it in 34 or 36 game days, you don’t deserve it either
Now its a home and away leg. two more matches.

this must be british humor

Yes, it’s been 35 years now with playoffs in :england: but I want the old system back :soccer:

AEK Athen vs PAOK?

You are correct, after we win the championship, now we won and the cup.

A couple of big :soccer: matches on Saturday at the same time 1500 (UTC +1).

There’s the FA Cup Final at Wembley between Manchester City and Manchester United. City have already won the Premier League (and are in the Champions League Final). United have already won the League Cup, so there’s doubles and triples at stake. It’s on BBC1 in :uk: and will be widely syndicated.

As a Liverpool supporter I want both Manchester teams to lose :joy: so instead I will be watching the Women’s Champions League Final on the DAZN Youtube Channel.

Barcelona will be favourites - they won it two years ago and lost in the final last year. Their best player is Alexia Putellas, who has won all three of the Ballon d’Or Féminin, the FIFA & UEFA Women’s Player of the year in both 2021 & 2022. She missed Euro 2022 with an injury. Barcelona also have England’s Lucy Bronze & Keira Walsh.

Vfl Wolfsburg have won the Champions League twice in the past and were last in the final in 2020 (they lost). Their best player is Alexandra Popp, who scored 2 goals for Germany in their Euro 2002 semi-final against France, but was injured for the final (which helped England win :trophy:).

1500 (UTC +1) on Saturday is 1000 on the East Coast :us: and 0700 on the West Coast :us: so it’s a great opportunity to watch some :soccer:

The Denver Nuggets playing their first final NBA playoff series in franchise history.

i am looking forward to the women’s champions league final today at 4pm :soccer: :trophy:

i don’t think Wolfsburg :de: will do anything against these Barcelona : Women. I hope I am wrong and we see an exciting final game. if alexis putella should play i am looking forward to it. it is so much fun to watch this woman play soccer.

may the better one win!

one and a half hours until kickoff :soccer: :trophy:

Final day of amateurs :de: :soccer: :trophy:

Das Erste broadcasts all the finals in a conference until 7pm

Me too! :soccer: :trophy:

Wolfsburg did beat Barcelona in the semifinal three years ago, so it’s not impossible.

Hopefully she will come on as a substitute. It will be good to see her in the World Cup in Aus/NZ later this year, after her missing out on Euro 2022.

Only an hour to wait now :mantelpiece_clock:

Well, it was three years ago. But Barcelona beat Wolfsburg last semifinal 5:1 in Camp Nou.
Nothing is impossible in football. But chelsea ladies are not exactly a counter team and they had absolutely no chance.

finals has its own rules. there is no home advantage, small stadium in Eindhoven.

Good choice. Nobody needs Manchester :joy:

Wohoo, what a outstanding final. absolutely deserved, no question about that.

I am impressed what an excellent first half Wolfsburg played. Barcelona showed in the second half why they are rightly the best team in europe.

Congratulations to both teams for this extraordinary final

I definitely made the right choice about which match to watch!

For a brief second I thought Wolfsburg were going to equalise from that corner right at the end, but it wasn’t to be.

Not much for Putellas to do but lift the trophy :trophy: having come on so late, but hopefully we will see the best of her in the World Cup (exept if Spain are playing England, of course  ).

That’s quite a lot considering she was injured for six months

Let’s see if spain will even compete. They have huge problems with their coach. The whole team doesn’t want to travel to Australia under this coach

At 8pm you can watch DFB Pokal Final in German TV

Eintracht :eagle: Frankfurt vs RB :face_vomiting: Leipzig

True, but she’s been getting more minutes on the pitch than that with Barcelona recently. I was hoping for a 60/70 minute substitution.

I thought they had resolved that, but I realise now that I’d mixed them up with France :person_facepalming: (who have replaced their manager following player discontent). I can’t imagine that the manger of a men’s international (or club) team would keep his job after that big a player revolt.

i was also hoping to see her longer.

that was a joke

France probably had a similar problem with the coach. for france it was a woman.
The spanish coach must have behaved very badly. let’s see if they get this sorted out somehow
