Plasma 6.2 bug

          **BUG**

Oct 10 update with Plasma 6.2 has significant restart ISSUE
Appears to boot then goes into black screen and tries to reset, repeatedly

same issue on a CachyOS partition

Lenovo Legion T5 26ARA8
AMD Ryzen 7 7700
Radeon RX 6600

@garybean ,
In a newly installed Plasma from neo iso (although ly is used instead of sddm) no restart issue at my end.
Edit @garybean ,
In VM installed iso 06.25 offline mode (to see update problems). Then
sudo pacman -Sy endeavouros-keyring
sudo pacman -Sy archlinux-keyring; sudo pacman -Su

cat /var/log/pacman.log | grep -i error
[2024-10-11T18:48:03+0200] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] ==> ERROR: specified kernel image does not exist: '/boot/vmlinuz-linux'
[2024-10-11T19:09:44+0200] [ALPM] upgraded perl-error (0.17029-5 -> 0.17029-7)

Restart works. My bad if it does not help you. Ideapad S145-15-IIL

SO, many successful updates with Plasma 6.2

Lucky me.

I won the Jackpot BUG on two different OSs.
EndeavourOS and CachyOS

Just me, apparently.

Unfortunately there’s no information in this bug report that we can use to
triage the issue. I would recommend asking for help on the Arch Forum first to
make sure it isn’t caused by a botched update or a local configuration issue.
If everything looks good to them over there, we can come back here and try
troubleshooting some things on our side. Thanks.

found a workaround that might aid someone diagnose the issue

If I switch into terminal mode and then return to desktop plasma, it works.

duh!

my samsung s32ag55 monitor is the common factor between my two OS installations.
still – had no problem until the Plasma 6.2 update.
