Pavucontrol resetting input audio to default randomly

Every time i set the input audio from the Internal Microphone anything other than the default, it randomly resets back to its original state and my microphone simply dies mid-sentence when i’m talking to someone.

Default (Mic inaudible when i’m speaking)

Customized(Audible mic)

My audio chip is: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio

NOTE: the command pulseaudio does not work in my system because i do not use pulseaudio…even tho the pavucontrol app name is “Pulseaudio Volume Control”, which is quite misleading.
