Papirus Icons in KDE

Hey! I recently tried to install the Papirus Icon theme and doesn’t seem to work properly Specifically this section, which should look like this. Does anyone know what am I missing and how to fix it? This was after a fresh install, so I haven’t touched anything else other than the icons

Just to be safe, did you enable the icons inside the KDE settings? Or did you maybe enable a global theme after changing your icons, so the Papirus icons got overwritten?

Also, if I remember correctly, aren’t there different color schemes that also look different?

I did.

No. Just downloaded the icons and applied them. Most of the icons seem to work. It’s just that section that doesn’t change

aren’t there different color schemes that also look different?

There are, but the icons themselves should look the same, no?

If you change to other icon themes, does dolphin show them correctly? Just to see if it’s a Papirus problem or a general problem.

Most of them work. Adwaita for example, all the icons just don’t show up at all

Did you try logging out after applying them?

Yes. Logging out, reboot, reinstall

Check if unsetting QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME helps.

It was set, but unsetting it didn’t seem to change anything after a reboot

Keep in mind that after a restart, it will probably be set again by the system. Maybe add

export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=

to your .bashrc file and try again.

Still nothing unfortunately. I have a feeling I should switch to cinnamon

Make sure you have whatever theme papirus uses as a fallback installed. If I remember correctly when I used papirus many of the icons come from the theme it inherits from.

Would that be Arc?

Open up the index.theme file and it should tell you what it inherits from. It may be more than one thing.

It inherits breeze, which was my default from the beginning

If you give me a minute I will install the papirus icon theme and take a look.

Absolutely. There’s no rush. Thank you

Just check what size icons/zoom level you’re using in the file manager, as it might switch icons depending on displayed size/zoom level.

Wow. Thank you. That worked. But shouldn’t they have icons for all sizes?

If you look at the theme you can see which icon sizes it includes.
