i dont know pamac standard settings, but they can use more then mirrors at once…but if you have two different mirrors there can some issues… there is no point in distrowatch ranking in this point… a certain freeze has a reason, telling pamac freeze and its on our side is also a bit ?? questionable… give feedbback about settings error messages can help a lot.

While I am making the transition to pacman, Pamac has never let me down before. I see you solved your issue, but using pamac-aur, I’ve never had an issue in updating nor installing software with it.
Alas, the future is pacman, especially If you want to know what’s happening under the hood.
