Pamac-aur build error

Hi,
Just installed Cinnamon and trying to install pamac-aur but getting this error. Any help would be appreciated.

Try this:

yay (or trizen) -Scc and clean all caches.
Try building pamac-aur again. It will work better, I think.

I think downgrading meson to version 53.x solves the issue. If I remember correctly, I had the same issue with meson version 60. Can’t check version number now. No computer available in hospital.

pamac-aur-git has fixed that meson issue.

First you need to install package downgrade. Then execute sudo downgrade meson. Choose the number of the version you want to downgrade to.

No, it is a bug in libpamac-aur PKGBUILD. No need to downgrade any package.

Just look at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libpamac-aur comments.

We can see in this PKGBUILD:

build() {
  cd "$srcdir/libpamac-$_commit"
  mkdir -p builddir
  cd builddir
  meson setup --buildtype=release \
        --prefix=/usr \
        -Denable-appindicator=true \
        --sysconfdir=/etc $define_meson
  # build
  ninja
}

So removing before building:

-Denable-appindicator=true \

fixes the issue.

Maintainer is not doing its work here.

This is not a meson issue, this is a “not updated PKGBUILD issue”. Just look at comments on AUR.

pamac-aur-git is obviously better maintained than pamac-aur. But the real bonus is the fact that @FredBezies maintains pamac-aur-git. Thus, if needed, we’ll get quick answers here!
