Creating a copy of the .desktop file and changing the content of this file with kde menu editor works fine, but my computer doesn’t use the files in the .local directory. It still uses the normal one

I am not sure what the cause of this is in your install but I can’t replicate in my main install or in a cleanly installed vm.
