For the sake of troubleshooting I would also avoid wayland with Nvidia…(if possible)

I know what the opinions are, but for example, my card only with bumblebee achieves good performance, while on the “pure” driver, it runs all the time at full speed, and in selected games it stutters terribly. I was not able to use my card on the 390 driver, without bumblebee. Without it, it is completely unusable. However, the author of the topic has a much better card, so indeed my proposal misses the point.
