Off-topic but valid warning regarding the dangers of pacman -Syy

I hope you meant to say Syu.

For getting every time progress bars I cannot use pacman -Syu - it tells me “everything up-to-date” when I call it in short spans. So I use pacman -Syy. Of course only for getting progress bars for testing

Then you might want to do

  pacman -Syyu

This is off-topic. I only choosed -Syy to get progress bars every time I try. Yesterday I tried 20 times and more within 5 minutes to test ssh and pacman options and I want to get reliable progress bars. In production script of course -Syu is used  The only difference between -Syy and -Syyu would have been the sentence “everything up to date”.

We were trying to keep you from breaking that school’s systems, you never mentioned a test rig.
Guess next time I’ll just quietly let you brick your stuff…
